The kit for the electronics alone : crossover capacitors, inductors, resistors, and speaker elements cost $1030. It costs a few hundred more for the kit from which to build the cabinets. These speakers are already built with the crossovers mounted on the outside of the cabinets. They could use some cosmetic makeover that would be far less work (and less money) than building a kit. This, I think is a bargain at $600. The schematic diagram is included. These are relatively sensitive speakers which go well with SET amplifiers such as 45, 2A3, or 300B's. You can also bi-amp or tri-amp them very easily but they are wired in full range which works very well.
I am selling them because I just changed from 45 SET amplifiers to 833-A amplifiers (that are transformer coupled to 45 drivers by way of transformers and I will use these much stronger amplifiers to drive less sensitive speakers.
I do not have the resources to have them packaged and shipped and I am not comfortable selling something without the buyer knowing exactly what he/she is getting and being completely happy to make the purchase.
