Kenwood KP 990 Semi Automatic Tuntable with Denon DL 103 MC Cartridge 1988 Black RESTORED! [Expired]

no longer for sale

I am selling a Kenwood LP 990 semi automatic turntable with the Denon DL 103 MC cartridge. This turntable is rare and imported from Japan. Its semi automatic and therefore the tonearm automatically lifts at the end of the record and the platter stops spinning. This turntable has been completely serviced and restored.  Here is what has been done:
  • All the electrolytic capacitors have been replaced with Nichicon FG (Fine Gold) audiophile grade with beefed up voltages
  • All the solder joints were reheated-anything questionable was resoldered
  • The motor seals and arm have been lubed (including the VTA adjustment)
  • All other moving parts (switches, dials) we cleaned and relubed
  • The VR (variable resistors) were set to spec with a DV
  • Anti Skate fish line replaced with new one
  • New Denon DL-103 MC Cartridge with LP Gear Ultimate Headshell professionally aligned by LP Gear
  • Replaced original feet with upgraded aluminum feet purchased from MNPCTECH. Made in USA. (I will include the original feet with the package as well)
  • The black base is in very good condition. There are no cracks or breaks.
  • The only items to mention are cosmetic:
    - There are scratches in the clear coat on the left side of the base. You can see them in the 11th pic. The scratches are NOT in the wood just the clear coat.
    - There is a chip on on one of the original feet (see pic 12). Its still fully functional and only a cosmetic issue.
  • The dust cover is fully functional and has no cracks or breaks. The dust cover does have some scratches on the top and is a bit cloudy.
This turntable was originally imported from Japan. Therefore, it needs a power converter to operate in the USA. I am including a brand new power converter for the Kenwood so it will work perfectly in the USA.

I will of course pack the turntable professionally. I always double box my turntables for safe shipping and only use large bubble wrap and foam. No peanuts. The platter will be removed and placed at the bottom of the box. The coutnerweight will be removed and packed separately. The dust cover will be removed and packed separately. The headshell and cartridge will be packed separately in its own Denon box.

I have included a video that displays the turntable operation:

I am selling for $500.00 plus UPS Ground shipping at $50.00. Please let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for your interest!
