Ortofon MC 20 Super

Priced to sell and a bargain for anyone wanting a high quality low output/low impedance moving coil cartridge. You would probably have to go relatively deep into the current Cadenza line to equal the performance of this cartridge. 

An original Ortofon MC 20 Super retipped by Andy Kim at Needleclinic in February 2017.Retipping of this cartridge in '17 included installation of a sapphire cantilever (a significant upgrade over the original aluminum cantilever) with a laser drilled and mounted microridge stylus. The suspension was also adjusted/rebuilt at this time as well (extremely important with an older cartridge) so this cartridge should have lots of longevity left in it. Cost for this service was $450.00

In use on a Jelco 750D mounted on a Michell Gyrodec from March/17 to August/19 and it has only played pristine vinyl in that time period and has a dead straight cantilever and clean (very tiny!) microridge stylus in excellent condition. Approximately 700-750 hours playing time; with this microridge stylus it should easily go another 750 hours and quite possibly closer to 1250 hours before needing another retip.

This is a medium compliance cartridge and will work well in any medium mass arm or a higher mass arm with fluid damping. 

Priced to sell. This offers significantly superior performance to a stock MC 20 Super with an aluminum cantilever which Ortofon sold recently as an anniversary product at $900 U.S. Certainly competitive with most current new cartridges in the $1000-$1300 price range.
