Ampex 351-2 Reel-to-Reel Tape Machine

I am selling my Ampex 351-2 in portable cases.  I am the original owner and bought this machine new in 1958.  It was purchased along with pairs of Neumann U67 and Altec M11 microphones.  I used them along with a pair of Precision Electronics 6-channel mixers.  I used this gear to record some local rock bands and musicians on location.  The fun lasted until the wife and kids came along.  Since then, it has been safely stored in my home along with much of the other gear that I have been collecting over the years. 

If it were not for the fact that I have a bank of Ampex ATR tape machines, I would not be letting this machine go.  This Ampex was not used from the early 1960's until the present time and now it needs a new home.  The machine looks new and performs equally as well.  If you are into reel-to-reel tape machines, it is hard to do much better than an Ampex.  This day and age there are prosumer tape machines made off shore that do not stand up to the ruggedness and professional build of this machine.

This item is available for customer pickup.  If the item must be shipped, I will construct a foam lined crate to fully protect the machine and ship it Fedex ground at a discounted rate.  The crate will be provided at my expense and the buyer will be responsible for the shipping charges.
