Here we have a spectacular pair of ProAc D30R floorstanding loudspeakers. They have served us very well as one of our demo floor models, and now it is time for them to find a new home. They have been very well taken care of - a 9/10 condition with no major flaws to speak of. The most notable sign of wear is a small (about a millimeter) mark on the back of one of the bases, unseeable unless you are right up close to it. Otherwise, they are in tip-top condition, a great pair indeed. As floor models, they come with a manufacturer's warranty from date of sale to you, and also have all the original boxes and materials.

The D30R is a medium-sized floorstander with a big big personality. ProAc is engaging, dynamic, incredibly detailed, accurate and analytical, yet always musical and downright fun. With a downfiring bass reflex port, they get impressively low and impactful. Thanks to their ribbon tweeter, the same one found in more up-scale models, the soundstaging and resolution are second to none. Each instrument is separate, balanced, and represented with astounding accuracy in three dimensional space. Perfect for small to medium-sized rooms, they have enough sensitivity to get along with a wide variety of amplifiers.

“ProAc has recently implemented the use of carbon fibre in the cones of the Response D40 and Carbon Pro 8, and Kevlar in the Tablette Anniversary and K6 models, thereby achieving levels of sound quality that were only dreamed of a few years ago. The necessary exhaustive research involved in the development of these models and the materials employed, has enabled us to design cones that give excellent frequency response characteristics and the new Response D30 is the latest model to take advantage of the acoustic excellence of carbon fibre.

The Response D30 floorstander utilises a new polymer rear coated carbon fibre coned bass driver mounted in a slim enclosure. Bass loading is achieved by side vented directional loading similar to that used in the D40, producing an extremely accurate and powerful bass response with good extension and low colouration.

The D30 is available in both ribbon and dome tweeter configurations and features the same high quality HF units found in the D40/D40R. The crossover network employs dedicated components of the highest quality and multi strand oxygen free copper wiring. The classic ProAc split crossover design offers bi-wiring and bi-amping options.

The D30 therefore offers a similar bass loading, cone material, tweeter and crossover network to that of its larger sibling, making it an ideal choice for those who require a smaller floorstander, but still demand sonic excellence.

Once set up using our own spikes, which are designed to penetrate even thick carpet and when partnered with quality electronics, the exceptional performance of the D30 can be fully realised.
