This is an amazing preamplifier with truly holographic soundstage, beguiling purity of tone, stunning bass (the best bass I have heard in a tube preamplifier) and an overall lifelike, dynamic presentation. I have tried a lot of different preamps over the past few years. The Purity Reference is simply stunning, it took a $40,000 preamp to better it in my system.
The original Reference received great reviews. The Mk 3 is significantly better and the extra options take it to yet another level of realism and musicality.
The unit uses a pair of 6SN7s (12AU7s can be used with a socket adapter) and a single 5R4 rectifier. Tube rollers' paradise. I will include two different pairs of NOS 6SN7s and a very hard to find British CV717 rectifier. This is the best 5R4 rectifier available.
I have a huge collection of 6SN7s, I might consider selling some with the preamplifier (I will not sell any separately). Please let me know if you're looking for anything specific.
The unit will be carefully packaged it the original double box to insure safe shipping.

"The high frequencies were sweet, silky, airy, and delicate -- and, at other times, so revealing of information that my brain had to work hard to take it all in. The Purity Reference’s bass performance was among the best I’ve heard. The bass was deep, tight, detailed, and full, and rendered with lifelike clarity. The midrange was textured and present, with no hint of sounding soft or muffled. The palette of colors and timbres offered by the Reference was broad and rich. The Reference had “see-through” soundstaging in my system that was difficult for me to quantify -- stages seemed to extend past my room’s side and front walls, with images that were clearly delineated, dimensional, and well defined. In fact, the Purity Reference imaged with the best I’ve had in my listening room."
