Sonus Faber Cremona M

Sonus Faber sound in a low-key package. Thick, low-gloss finish over expertly-joined graphite-finished maple complemented by leather baffles (tapered for sonic benefit) that sit behind SF's acoustically transparent waterfall grill, itself a visual treat. The M has been upgraded with the midrange from the $20K+ Elipsa; other drivers have been similarly upgraded. The cabinet back is also dramatically curved on the Ms.

From The Absolute Sound: "Yes, there’s the traditional sweet and civil side to the Cremona [M] that does for a piccolo trumpet or a harpsichord what Perugia does for chocolate. If you’re listening to some soft jazz like Diane Reeves or Mary Stallings, that warmth and sweetness can make you feel as poshly pampered as a Pomeranian. But this particular Sonus Faber also reveals a more explosive, electrifying side, one that doesn’t flinch from deep-impact rock and full-throttle metal. Translation: This cultured Italian kicked some serious gluteus maximus in my listening room." I have not heard the Cremona non-Ms, but I do have experience with other SFs, and the main difference I found with the Cremona Ms was dynaimics: faster response that does nothing to disturb the characteristic natural sound of Sonus Faber (excluding the Venere series, which I found to be very different).

These speakers look perfect but closer examination reveals some minor scratches near the bottom and one bigger ding on the back of one (see photos). No flaws are visible in normal listening. Operationally, they are perfect and provide satisfying sound that can soothe or rock. Please see reviews:

These speakers will ship well-packaged in Sonus Faber boxes and packaging made for their Olympica II speakers (they were shipped to me without incident in these same boxes).
