Up
for auction is a Rogue Cronos Magnum II in near-mint condition. 9/10 mint (see
photos) only because it is used. Purchased from Needle Doctor in August of 2017
with the optional tube cage manufactured by Rogue for the Cronos. Immaculately
cared for in a non-smoking home. Estimated play is 15-20 hours/week. Less in
the summer months as I’m gone 4 days per week.

Also
included is a Brimar NOS CV4003 12AU7 (purchased from Upscale Audio 6 months
in) placed into the center pre-amp section. (Original JJ 12AU7 tube (stock from
Rogue) also included). The Brimar 12AU7 added a bit more tube richness and a
touch of warmth that I thought was missing for my system. This also provided the top end with
some very nice air and space. The phono stage on the Rogue is dead quiet and
has plenty of love to give as an on-board phono stage. There is a long way to
go before needing a separate phono pre-amp. Overall this is a very musical and
engaging integrated that has serious slam and just enough tube sweetness. Rogue
has the secret sauce in this regard. Plenty of power but never too much honey.
As all components from Rogue, the Cronos performs way above its pay grade. If
this is your entry into tubes…this is a great place to start. The KT120 drivers
are pretty darn bomb proof. Biasing is super easy and completely DIY (tiny
screw driver included). I paid $2,710 new complete per above.

I’m
selling as I consolidated two systems for relationship harmony. My other amp is
the Rogue Pharaoh. I’m obviously a fan but something had to give. Check out the
reviews and specs. This is a beast of an integrated amp. Beautifully hand made
here in the States. Rogue Audio customer service is outstanding for even just the simplest of questions. Shipping is as much as it is, as the Cronos weighs in
at 55 pounds, unboxed. Tube cover will also ship separately in its own box. I
will be shipping UPS Ground to the continental US only. I will carefully pack
in original Rogue cartons with driver tubes boxed and bubble wrapped,
volume/mute remote wrapped, and original Rogue manual included. Happy to answer
any questions as to sound and how it worked in my system. No returns, please.
