This listing is for a vintage Nakamichi RX-505 stereo cassette deck. This deck was rebuilt by Willy Herman Services in September. I have used this machine for approximately 10 hours to verify operation and sound reproduction. This machine operates flawlessly all functions, features, and indicators are working correctly.

WILLY HERMANN SERVICE PERFORMED:

Dismantled unit and removed transport mechanism
Replaced reverse mechanism belt and cleaned old lubricant
Dismantled tape transport
Cleaned old lubricant from capstans, hubs, idler, cam mechanism, head block, pinch roller shafts, and rocker arms
Relubed all as needed
Replaced spooling idler tire, capstan belt and cam belt
Reassembled transport
Realigned tape path guides and head stroke and zenith
Reinstalled transport mechanism
Adjusted transport stop, cue and play points
Adjusted reversing mechanism electronics
Reset head height and azimuth
Adjusted electronics for correct play and record levels
Adjusted bias frequency and volume
Set adjustments for all three tape types
Replaced cassette well lamp with LEDs and modified circuit to accommodate them
Verified original specifications
Tested machine extensively for correct function both cold and hot
Machine passes all tests

I used my personal Nakamichi, Mobile Fidelity and Nautilus reference cassettes for testing. This deck is a joy you will find yourself playing tape after tape rediscovering your collection.

Cosmetic condition is very good with minor signs of use. This example is also physically clean with no dirt or nicotine contamination. If you are looking for a completely solid correctly operating deck that will provide uncompromised reliable service this machine will meet your requirement. Included will be the WHS repair receipt and the WHS Performance Verification report. 

The under chassis factory transport locking jig and screw will be installed for safe shipping. FYI the Nakamichi Reference cassette shown is for demonstration purpose only and not included with the sale.
