Metal or glass anywhere in the support or damping path is
detrimental to performance. The spindle and motor are the only parts
manufactured from metal. A silent oil well bearing is used.
A Jelco 12 inch tonearm (three to choose from) is used. Much lower tracking distortion than a 9 inch
arm (http://www.hifigem.com/9-inch-or-12-inch-tomearm.html). Easy VTF, VTA, SRA, azimuth and anti-skating adjustment. Audioquest
interconnect cable, Kimber available.
Fluid damped motor: helps by broadening torque Q and damping
vibrations. Listening to the PolyTable Super12 with an electronic stethoscope
produces virtually no noise. More noise = less sound quality.
Digital Motor Drive: The DMD affords totally isolation from
power line trash by using a regulated DC power supply and a microprocessor,
employing crystal controlled adjustable dual oscillators (3 parts per million
accuracy) for sine and cosine motor drive voltages. Speed sweep is plus or
minus 2 percent.
