I am selling my Schiit Audio Asgard 2 true Class A headphone amp that also can function as preamp. The sound it produces is rich & textured as you would expect from a class A biased amp. The only reason I am selling it is that I have become addicted to tubed-based headphone amps, which are even richer & have an even more saturated tonal palette. Anyone that knows audio electronics knows that Schiit Audio produces some of the most ‘bang for the buck’ components in the industry – all made in the U.S. & of superb quality.
The Asgard 2 has a gain switch to adapt to both sensitive in ear monitors and to hard-to-drive, high-ohm cans like the 600 ohm Beyerdynamic DT-990 headphones. This unit has never lacked power & authority, but also possesses the requisite delicacy to reproduce the full spectrum of music, from acoustic to electronic. Differentiating the Asgard 2 from the original Asgard is the variable analog output that empowers the Asgard 2 to daisy chain to another headphone amp or to act as a preamp with an external amplifier.
Included in this sale is the Asgard 2, the original box, original power cord & owner’s manual.
I am the original owner & paid approx. $350 for it. I rate the device as 8/10, as there is no discernable wear & tear. My asking price is $150 + insurance + S&H, as calculated by Audiogon. I refuse to charge anything extra to cover PayPal fees.
As I am cleaning out my ‘toy closet’, I have multiple items up for sale or auction. Please take a few minutes to peruse my other items.
