Wadia 170i Digital Dock/Transport and Channel Islands Audio VDC 9.0 Linear Power Supply

For sale is my Wadia 170i iDevice digital dock/transport paired with a Channel Islands Audio VDC 9.0 linear power supply made specifically for the i170.  The i170 is an excellent sounding piece of equipment in & of itself.  However, when paired with the VDC 9.0 linear power supply, it truly comes into its own.

Input: 30-pin Apple connector

Analog Output: RCA jacks – is a pass-through signal from iDevice

Digital Output: SPDIF via RCA

Video Output: S-video or Component Video

Included: adaptor inserts for various iDevices, wall-wart switching power supply, original remote that has never even had the battery inserted or removed from its pouch, the original box, a copy of the owner’s manual & the 170i itself.

VDC 9.0

9V DC regulated linear power supply with 2x umbilical cords. One that fits the 170i & another that fits a Logitech Squeezebox.

Included: 2x umbilical cables, power cord in the original box/packing with original manual & the VDC 9.0 itself.

The 170i harvests the direct PCM digital signal, bypassing the el cheapo& poor performing DAC inside the iDevice, and passes that signal to an external DAC, presumed to be of much higher quality.  For iDevices capable of both audio & video signal transmission [iPod classic, iPad, iPhone & newer iTouches], the 170i will also pass through the video signal via either the legacy S-video connection or the higher performance component video connection.

Obviously, iDevices with 30-pin connectors will mate without a problem with the 170i.  However, if your iDevice is newer & has a Lightning connector, an inexpensive adaptor cable is readily available on Amazon without denigration of the quality of the audio signal.

I am the original owner of both pieces, which were purchased circa 2009/2010.  Neither piece shows wear nor scratches, but due to age, I am rating both as 8/10. They function flawlessly and sound fantastic!

I paid $400 for the 170i & $300 for the VDC 9.0.  My asking price is $250 for both items + insurance + S&H, as calculated by Audiogon.  I refuse to charge anything extra to cover PayPal fees.
