You can spend a lot more money on a tube preamp but you will have a hard time finding a better one than the CJ Premier 17LS. Lush tuby midrange, nice detail on top without being "etchy." A perfect match for 99% of the amps out there, both tube and solid state. The preamp is in excellent condition, I could not find one flaw. The cost of this unit new was $4500, and that was in 2004 when a dollar was worth more than it is today.
