COSMETIC DOOR
MARANTZ 500 AMP
MADE BY MARANTZ BEFORE 1980
This door is designed to cover the MARANTZ 500 amplifier’s on/off switch, a pair of inputs and a pair of speaker terminals that are recessed into its faceplate – see (file) photo #5. Photo #6 is also a file photo, but with the door in place covering the connections.The door has to be taken off to turn the amp on and I guess it’s just human nature that some owners would misplace the door after it was removed.
This door was one of several purchased by an owner/collector who predicted they would be highly sought after in the future.
This door is NEW OLD STOCK, but won’t come in a sealed carton or include a warranty so we must describe it as MINT to conform with Audiogon rules.
The buyer is responsible for all shipping charges. This item will be insured for the full final auction price.
PLEASE NOTE: I will ship this item almost anywhere, but I do not research the cost of shipment. If you are outside the US and are interested in this unit, you will need to do the research. The carton weighs 1 pound and measures: 11 inches by 4 inches by 3 inches. My postal code is 91723.
