This is one of the favored pre-amps in the BAT line up because if someone wants a solid state pre-amp, it is vary hard to find a good sounding one. It also does a good job if long interconnects are needed because of being truley balanced and having a strong voltage drive. It does have a warmer sound even though it is not tubed. It is more dynamic and emotional than other solid state pre-amps.

| Is this a VK-42SE or a VK-40? The front panel says VK-42SE & it is marked VK-40 on the rear panel below the outputs. I will need to call BAT with the serial #. I never noticed that. I’m at AXPONA so I can call them next week.

I am green with envy... I talked to Vladimir and he said it is a 42SE. He said they had plenty of the VK-40 chasis left so the changed the face plate but the back was the same. It has entirely different components and circuit than the VK-40 |
