Pacific Microsonics Model One HDCD Processor

FOR SALE: Pacific Microsonics Model One HDCD Recorder/Processor. $7,000. Completely checked out by Bay Audio on Feb 4, 2019 and paid $885 for the following:

1.  Power-In Board- Labor:  2.0hrs @ $150/hr = $300.00

2.  -25VDC, -15VDC shorted on Voltage regulator circuit, Left Channel A/D.  -5VDC to A/D   module also shorted. Short caused by leaked electrolytic capacitors. Components  replaced, electrolytic capacitors, diodes, transistors and resistors in the circuit that were damaged by corrosion from the leakage and overheating. All defective parts were replaced. Labor: 1.0hrs @ $150/hr = $150.00
         
3.  +10VDC short on D./A board, caused by shorted inductor. The defective inductor was replaced. Labor:  0.5hrs @ $150/hr = $75.00.
Parts: Electrolytic Capacitors, Diodes, Transistors, Inductors = $ 65.00

4.  Pre/Post Burn-in Systems Tests. Labor: 2.0hrs @ $150/hr = $300.00  
 

Total Repair Estimate = $885.00   

The Pacific Microsonics Model One is still being used by the Skywalker Ranch, Reference Recordings and many other Hollywood studios as a digital recorder and playback system. My unit was purchased from a dealership in 2015 and used sparingly as a final reference.

This unit has scuff mark as indicated on one corner of the faceplate, and other areas. Now having been serviced by Bay Audio and returned to me on 2/4, it is in superior condition than others.

All original Model One's will go through the same problems like mine eventually. I have paid for all the necessary refitting and repairs so you won't have to. You won't find another Model One in this condition.

Both main unit and power supply packed in one big box with plenty of interior padding and protection.
