Thorens TD-124

This Thorens TD124 has been fully restored and includes a new, custom plinth. I have another 124 so I'd like to sell this one.  The sound and performance of this table is superb.  The table comes up to speed and stabilizes quickly.  I stand behind my stuff 100% and this is fully refundable if you are not pleased. 
The custom-made plinth is finished with Padouk veneer in hand-rubbed oil for a soft gloss. The interior of the plinth is solid except for the space needed to clear the motor and mechanism. The spaces are filled with layers of cabinet plywood and MDF. Feet are turned aluminum. Black feet are shown in the photos but I can replace these with natural aluminum if you'd prefer. The complete table weighs around 45 pounds.

The motor has been upgraded to MkII suspension with double silicone gel bushings.  this improves noise isolation very substantially. The bearings in the motor were replaced with new ones (Audio Silente) along with felt washers. It was properly aligned upon reassembly. 

The main bearing has been polished - smoother and more stable. The thrust plate retainer and thrust plate have been replaced with ones from Audio Silente.  The retainer plate is nicely machined from bronze.

All bearing surfaces have been polished correctly and tolerances maintained. All pulley surfaces have been cleaned.

The top plate has been refinished in an antique copper finish, as shown in the photos.
There is a slight ding in the aluminum upper platter.  This does NOT impact performance and is only somewhat visible. 
Includes a new idler wheel from Audio Silente, with two choices of traction surface and extra traction O-rings. The so-called mushrooms are new. The table is floating in the plinth but is could be secured. I know there are different schools of though on floating the table vs. coupling it tightly. Either approach would work with this plinth. If you want it secured, I can supply longer threaded studs to go all the way through the plinth.

Includes two new armboards.  One is made from hard maple covered in waterfall bubinga veneer and the other is MDF covered in Padouck veneer to match the plinth. 
The micro switch was cleaned and a new spark capacitor installed.  The mirror for the strobe is replaced with a new one. New belt. New rubber isolators between the iron platter and the aluminum top platter. 
And probably some stuff I've forgotten...

No arm is included, but I have several arms that could be added: VPI JMW10.5 with VTA Tower; Lustre GST 801; Alphason Design Xenon MCS; Audio Craft AC300. The VPI arm will work with the standard 124 armboard because it has the VTA micrometer tower. Also a bunch of cartridges that could be added, including a Supex SD901.
