VPI Industries HRX Record Weight

This HRX Stainless Steel Center Weight is used to hold records firmly to the platter at their center.  It fits over the platter's spindle.  It is not threaded.  It performs its function by virtue of its weight.

I have been using it alternately with my Levinson 515 turntable which came with it's own Levinson weight.  The HRX weight is attractive, and I often used it instead of the Levinson weight when I was running the VPI Periphery Outer Ring Clamp.  They complement either other visually, and match up nicely with the VPI Classic platter that is installed on the Levinson 515's from the factory.

I am not the original owner, but what can you do to a lump of stainless steel to degrade it?  It's not scratched up.  That's why I've rated it 9/10.

This a nice alternative to the VPI Delrin and Stainless Steel threaded clamp that comes with some of VPI’s other tables.  You can never have too many record weights or clamps.  😉
