I have for sale a beautiful Backert Labs Rhumba 1.3 preamp which is just over 4 months old. Thus with the transferable warranty you have well over 2 1/2 years left of warranty. I am the original owner. It comes from a child, pet, and smoke free home. It is in as new condition. I am selling as well my Pass XA-25 amplifier. They are a magical combination. The Rhumba 1.3 complements the Pass extremely well and improves it's performance. I am only selling because I was able to purchase a used ultra high end Integrated amp which retails well above the price of these 2 components together. I would be glad to make you a package deal should you be interested. I have owned Audio Research, Spectral, Boulder, and other preamps. The Backert Labs beats all of the ones that I have owned over the years. I am including a pair of NOS Mullard 12au7 tubes which I purchased from Brent Jesse in January which are valued at $200 as well the Mullards which came with the preamp..

From the Backert Labs website:
“Sounds like real music.”
“Immediately drew you in with its sense of aliveness, openness, detail, and smoothness.” Positive Feedback on the Rhumba 1.1
At just $4,000, the Rhumba 1.3 linestage preamp has the same basic circuit design as the $9,995 Rhythm 1.3, including fully balanced XLR input and output. That also includes the same power supply design — our patented “GreenForce.”™
All in a gorgeous chassis. Like the Rhythm, the Rhumba is designed and assembled in the U.S., with NO farming out of the attractive aluminum casework to other countries. In fact the aluminum comprising the chassis is entirely machined right in Pennsylvania.
From its debut, the Rhumba has wowed listeners. See reviewer Terry London’s raving preview of the 1st-generation Rhumba 1.1 here including his stunning conclusion, “might be the best deal in high-end gear of the 21st century”.

Improvements from the Rhumba 1.2
The Rhumba has always featured a convenient tube access door to let you change tubes easily. The Rhumba 1.3 eliminates the detachable thumbscrews on the tube door, so it’s even easier now — there’s nothing to get away from you.
Other improvements:
circuit developments in the power supply and gain stage that provide a more 3-dimensional listening experience, with improved imaging
these changes also provide improvements to liveliness, warmth and immediacy
a new “mono/stereo” switch on the front panel, a feature taken from our flagship Rhythm preamp, which can be helpful to those who listen to mono records or CDs
improved stock tubes – we now use the Mullard reissues, which are unbelievably good for their real-world prices
