Ampex ATR102/104

Ampex ATR102/104.  The machine has almost new 2-track Flux Magnetics extended low range 1/2" heads from Mike Spitz, ATR Services.  In fact the guts of the entire machine (cards in the cardcage and 4 channels of audio electronics) were sent to Mike for complete servicing. It has recorded only a hand-full of projects since the rebuilding. The machine sounds great. In fact the last project mixed on it was #1 on the world music charts for three weeks and was nominated for a Grammy. (Keali`i Reichel, Ke`alaokamaile) Includes remote and roll-around stand.  I have only used as a 2 track, so I cannot vouch for the condition or operation of the extra 2 channels; they probably will need servicing before use. Also includes 1/2" 4 track heads and a set of 1/4" 2 track heads, again condition unknown though. But with this understanding, I will include the extra electronics and heads.  They can be considered spare parts or can be quite useful to provide quick switching between tape level or tape formulation set-ups. Or the machine can be made back into a 4 track.  You are getting a 4 track machine at a 2 track price.
