Price Drop!! McIntosh C-38 Pre Amp Excellent Cosmetics and Functioning

2nd PRICE DROP!!  Now really attractive for purchase.  Well below the Blue Book Average. 
 The official model name is the C 38 System Control Center.  Those of you familiar with the McIntosh line will understand this name.  I think of it primarily as a great pre amp which has alll sorts of control/connectivity to other McIntosh gear and other brands too if you use the add on connecting hardware.
 
It has ample tape playing, recording and dubbing features as well as a full compliment of video connections ( including LASER DISC players!!!).  
 
All audio in/outputs are working fine.  The phono input balked a little until I cleaned the inputs with Deoxit, then all was well.  I didn't clean the other inputs but they worked fine.  Please note, NO HDMI connection.  See the photos to see all the connections possible (including the Balance Output). 
 
Comes in original Mac packing and double boxing.  Remote (with new batteries) and Manual are included. Attached power cord is probably 12 or 10 gauge (2 prong). 
Rating of 8/10 due to age only.  It looks and functions like new.  

I have not had experience with Mac gear, but I was pleasantly surprised.  It sounded great with a nice mid-range emphasis like with tube gear.  It was great fun tailoring the sound as needed--using the Treble and Bass controls to effect a 2-band equalizer. Very nice extension at the extremes if the midpoint was used on the Treble and Bass knobs.  All aspects of the sound stage are great. 
 
Cosmetic condition is excellent with no issues.  I noticed some of the smears on the glass face plate after the photos were taken and they have all gone now.  All lights work and knobs work smoothly and easily. 
 
As far as I can tell all functions are working properly.  I didn't try all the connection functions.  All lights are present.  The Remote works fine too.  
 
Serial #:  HC 2711.  This model was introduced in 1992 and this unit purchased in 1998.  One owner, This unit was a trade in to a dealer when the owner decided to upgrade.
