This amp works PERFECT, and sounds glorious. I am including a color screen Logitech Harmony universal remote, that is preprogrammed for this amp, and controls its’ many functions beautifully.

I used to have the Bryston B100sst w/dac, which was truly amazing, in every way. I loved it so much, that I purchased this one too. The B135sst2 beats the b100sst in EVERY way.

VERY powerful...runs my Gallo 3.1's withe verve and vigor...these speakers are not very efficient, and I have never even come close to running out of power.

The DAC in this unit is absolutely KILLER...and probably sounds significantly better, than the one in your current CD player. You can take advantage of this amazing DAC, just by running a digital connection from your current player (using your player as a transport only).

I listed the condition as an “8”, but look at the pics….I can’t find any faults...it is likely a “9” in reality.

Reason for sale: I sold my big house, with a dedicated audio room (had 2 separate systems). I now live in a small townhouse and don't have the room, so I have a small home theater system only.

Overview

The Bryston B135 SST2 Integrated Amplifier delivers 135 watts per channel at 8 ohms and 180 watts per channel at 4 ohms. There are provisions for 7 high level inputs, a pass-through feature, one tape loop and a pre-out/main-in feature. A headphone jack is provided for those requiring monitoring and private listening provisions. A fully functioning remote control is optional.

Conclusion

At the beginning of this review, I wondered whether Bryston’s newest integrated amplifier would be able to raise the bar over its already accomplished predecessor. It has, but, as anticipated, the B135 SST2 didn’t make the drastic leap in performance that I experienced when I first heard the B100 SST, itself already an exceptional product. What the B135 has done is retain the B100’s virtues and elevate them in certain areas, most notably its even greater transparency. With this come other improvements, such as the greater detail and clarity, making the B135 the proverbial clear window on your music.

When I first heard the B100 SST, in 2006, I considered it a benchmark product: the one any other would have to beat. With the B135 SST2, Bryston has succeeded in setting a new standard for the level of performance that can be expected at this price. You’ll have to spend significantly more to improve on the B135’s sound, and even so, those improvements are likely to be small. On these grounds -- and because it sounds so darn good -- Bryston’s B135 SST2 gets my highest recommendation.
