Lowther Loudspeakers DX4

I am original owner from six years ago. Actual use is three years, as I have two complete systems for summer/winter, each used for half the year. 
There was unfortunate event around Xmas. I unplugged a cable with volume up and damaged one speaker. It kept making a mechanical noise that was audible between tracks. I discussed with the importer and he suggested I try to fix myself since it was already broken. There was a tiny amount of black on the coil, but mostly okay. The hard part was reinstalling into the tiny gap. I got it to move without rubbing but it started to rattle a week after.  I attempted again but no luck as it was still making the same mechanical noise. I contacted Lowther directly for service and around $500 for a rebuilt unit. I did save their email bid. 
I didn’t have it fixed because around the same time I came into some funds from a work severance payment. I bought some much-more expensive Voxativ drivers from Germany instead since they have the exact same geometry for my horns. 
I came up with the asking price because the good unit plus repair gets you there at <half retail.
