Rare item from the late Gary Dodd (passed in 2015). Uses 4 6DJ8 tubes (seen here with military-grade tube dampers, included in sale) powered by external battery power supply. Dodd used battery power to eliminate disturbances in the power signal, thereby producing a cleaner, more detailed sound - and it works. Produces 55dB in gain and works very well with all MM carts and high-output MC carts (I used it with a Denon DL-103 MC with only .3 mV output and worked but I did have to turn the volume on my Rogue Tempest to 12:00 for decent output).
Fully functional, however the grounding terminal on the rear is broken but my Thorens didn’t like being grounded (and you should ground your phono to the amp chassis anyway, right?).
