Wilson Watt Puppies 5.1 and Cub Speakers

This grouping is preferably being sold as a home theater system (together with a Wilson Cub), with an exceptional pair of Wilson Watt/Puppies
5.1, whose original owner was David Chesky of Chesky Records and HD
Tracks.  (An original letter to David and
Norman from the late Dave Wilson accompanies their purchase.)  In the late 90s, the speakers were sold to a party in North Carolina, who sold them to me in
2000.  At that time, the list price on
this product was $18,300 (ref: Audio Revolution).

I purchased the Wilson Cub as second owner in 2000, which was
used by both owners for a center-channel.  (List price on a pair of CUBs was $5200.  A heavy, vertically adjustable, powder-coated
steel Sound Anchor stand in original carton is available separately for $250.)

Exterior finish on all speakers is the Wilson automotive
black.  Since their purchase, these
speakers have been infrequently used in a dark, underground home theater,
together with large sub-woofers that mitigated woofer stress and need for re-foaming.
This setting is child- and pet-free, with a cool temperature and average
humidity.  Solely due to age, I rate the
components as 7 out of 10 in good condition.  The speakers have small scuff marks, but no scratches
penetrate the finish.  One Puppy has a
very small chip (~1/8”) on the rear bottom of one side.

Like all Wilson products, these units are heavy and very
dense.  Two sets of grill covers (foam
and fabric) are supplied.  Foam covers,
tuning port, and foam diffraction pads on the W/P speakers were completely replaced
in 2016 by Innovative Audio in NYC. 

Purchase
includes all original owners’ manuals, Wilson upgrades to W/P 5.1 via Puppy
Tails, tools, hardware, dust cloth, receipts, and some equipment reviews from
that time.  The three speakers will only
be shipped in their original wood crates (5) but are available locally for pickup.  I’ve been an Audiogon member for years; feedback
is also available on eBay under the same username.
