This DAC has been at a rarely-visited vacation home and subjected to very light use. I only am selling this because, upon my arrival at the vacation home this week, my preamp died. I am replacing it and the power amp with an integrated that includes a DAC, so it no longer makes sense for me to have a standalone DAC. Otherwise, I would gladly hang on to this and continue to enjoy it. Frankly, I hope the DAC in the integrated sounds as good as this one.
This DAC will play almost any file you can throw at it, with DSD as DoP on USB and as native DSD over I2S. (See the sample rate information at the end of this listing for greater detail.). It has both balanced and RCA outputs.
I only have used the USB and coax inputs, with a SoTM SMS-1000 server and Logitech Squeezebox Touch, and both inputs worked perfectly and sounded great. Both of my players require the use of Logitech Media Server, so I did not test this with sources like JRiver, Roon, Tidal or Qobuz. I only used the unbalanced outs but have no reason to think that the balanced outputs aren't working perfectly.
The case is in excellent shape cosmetically, except for some small scratch-like blemishes on the smoked plastic top that resulted from momentary contact with the SoTM server within my audio cabinet when I was moving the latter. They do not affect performance. The blemishes are not visible under typical lighting conditions, but I rated this an 8 instead of a 9 because they are there. I tried photographing them but, due to reflections in my home lighting, I can't get them to appear. (Please note that visible color differences or apparent discolorations on the top in the photos are reflections or dust spots on the camera lens, not the blemishes to which I refer.) If you purchase this and find that the blemishes on the unit's top are a fatal flaw, you can return the unit for a refund. I will ship in the original double boxes. I have and will provide the original manual and unused power cable. (I replaced the power cable as soon as I received the DAC and assume you will, too.)
Shipping will be $40 within the United States. If my actual shipping cost is less, I will refund the difference. Please add 3% for PayPal.
