I purchased and set up these speakers in 2012. The speakers are in excellent condition, and I have been the only owner. They were originaly purchased for $799 a piece ($1600 total) and used ones currently go for anywhere between $800- $1300 a pair.
As bipolar speakers go, the 8040STs are a great value for money.
