The unit is brand new - Audio Research Reference CD 9 Special Edition which just came out in mid 2019 and includes USB input and a mostly glass much more stylish lovely full front face plate to match the latest Reference series amps and pre amps.
I have played the CD9 for two weeks - it is more refined than my original CD9 - this was an ARC replacement for a regular Reference CD9 - but I decided to go to an upper end MSB dac and streaming Tidal medium before I received this replacement upgraded unit (MSB / Aurrender system - my main rig is vinyl), and I need some serious money for a speaker upgrade.
The unit is so pristine - you literally are only missing pulling the plastic off the front face.
It is the only one on Audiogon - you can get all the latest refinements and beautiful new front face.

ARC now has incorporated a USB input for input expansion(mac, windows and Linux), enhanced face plate to match their new reference series, upgraded dacs, and samples up to 24/192.
This is the black face model which looks fantastic. Top loading and built like a tank. It utilizes 4 6H30 tubes and a 6H30 with 6559WE power supply tubes.
The CD9 SE combines highly sampled digital inputs, and a rugged Phillips PRO2R transport for superior sound.
