Lafayette KT-600 in working Condition

Up for sale is a vintage Lafayette KT-600 Stereo Master Control Center that I purchased with several items out of an estate sale. As the photos show the unit is in great cosmetic condition. This is a highly regarded tub amp

I brought the unit up slowly on my variac and installed it in my reference system powered by a Marantz 8B and the unit performed flawlessly. If it were me I would run the unit as is until is showed that it needed a restoration. No guarantees of course given the age but a video of the unit is available to serious bidders

The unit was owned by a store owner who was an avid audiophile with a massive collection so it was well preserved so I am not surprised that it powered on easily and sounds great.

Audiogon does not have a function to post videos but I can email a video of the unit playing for serious bidders

I purchased this unit along with many other vintage audiophile quality pieces which I will be listing over the coming weeks. Some will be included here, specifically the more collectible pieces that I would love to see goto a good home. I will be posting some of the more common items on ebay and will list below as well. (and of course I kept a few special pieces for my personal collection).

This unit came out of the estate of the owner of the Schaeffer Camera Company in Newark, New Jersey. I googled the store and it appears to be long gone and there is not much information on the internet but the company that handled the estate sales says that it was a prominent store in the metro-New York area selling high end electronics including cameras, turntables, speakers, amps and electronics.

When the store went out of business the owner took the most valuable pieces home where they have been stored for the last several decades.
