These planar speakers have been very well taken of and are in very good condition. They are full range speakers with no crossovers. They are over 20 years old, They have been kept in a very clean house with no smokers, pets or children. they still look and sound mint. They have never been played very loud so they still sound like new. They are great speakers for Jazz and classical music.

Features

• Point Source Technology: A specially designed magnetic driver is attached to the center of a mylar membrane. The magnetic driver, when excited with music signals, acts as the central point and sound waves spread outwards. Imagine a stone thrown into a pond. The waves spread out and as the waves reach the shore, the waves are larger than in the center where the ripples started. This unique method is the ideal way to provide the most natural full frequency sound.
• No Crossovers: This speaker has no crossovers. The music signal therefore reaches the driver in its purest form. All other speakers use either crossovers or transformers which add coloration to the sound.
• Easy to Drive: Unlike other planar speakers, these speakers can be used with virtually any amplifier or receiver as the speaker does not present a difficult load to the amplifier.
• Trapezoidal Shape: Here is an example of form following function. The unique design was chosen as it eliminates standing waves common in all speakers with parallel surfaces.
• Ferro-Fluid Cooled: The voice coil is cooled using a special formulation of Ferro-Fluid.
• Mass Loading Possibility: The speakers can be filled with sand or lead shots at the base to increase the mass and rigidity. The feet are provided with "spikes" which will enable the effects of the mass loading to be optimized.
• Wired Internally with Museatex Cables: These speakers are wired internally with Museatex cables. This ensures that the integrity of the signal from the binding post to the driver is maintained.
• Real Wood and Lacquer: The bases of these speakers are finished in real mahogany or black lacquered wood.
