Salk Sound CAOW1

FS/FT are a pair of Murphy CAOW1 built by Jim Salk (Salk Sound). Second owner. This is regarded as one of the best, smoothest and most natural sounding monitor designs you can build. The drivers alone (Hiquphon OW1 3/4" softdome tweeter and Seas C15LY 5" paper cone woofer) cost $400. The Hiquphon tweeters are regarded as some of the best sounding tweeters you can buy and the Seas woofers are excellent as well. They also come with magnetic grills which have never been used. Aside from a few tiny scratched on the bottom of one speaker shown in one of the pictures, these are flawless and beautiful. I couldn't capture the depth and beauty of the walnut veneer with pictures. It's true furniture grade work. I have the original box, sales receipt, etc. as well. These are 84 dB efficient, 8 ohms nominal, 12.5" tall x 8" wide x 10.5" deep

Salk sells a near identical model (down to the same 2nd order crossover) for $1000 called the Song Surround 1. The only difference is the woofer, which is the Seas ER15 5" paper cone woofer rather than the C15LY. Price and performance wise, the two woofers are nearly identical (see Zaph Audio for details). Crossover, etc. are otherewise identical between the Song Surround and CAOW1.
