WHY AM I SELLING THIS PIECE? I purchased this Marantz AV7702MKII Pre-Pro new, in November of 2015, from an authorized installer. It was drop shipped to me, fully sealed, directly from Marantz. I never had occasion to use the warranty, but it has long since retired. It replaced an Integra Pre-Pro (which I also sold on Audiogon) not having Dolby Atmos or similar immersive audio type decoding, with this piece, and installed it on an equipment rack located inside a vented AV Equipment Closet serving my dedicated Theater Room. This Closet is equipped with a Panasonic Whisper Quiet ceiling exhaust fan, which turns on and stays on whenever the Marantz is switched on, or otherwise, automatically, whenever a special control thermostat installed above the equipment racks, reaches or exceeds my setpoint temperature of 85 degrees.
About a month ago, I bought the current and latest model Marantz Pre-Pro, having 13 active speaker pre-out channels, and also a few miscellaneous refinements in the way of wireless output and additional zones. I finally got around to switching out these two units, and it is solely for this reason that I am selling my AV7702MKII. It has served me flawlessly, has been well taken care of, and at the price I'm asking, it seems to be a genuine steal considering what the new owner will be getting.
A SPECIAL NOTE ON PRE-AMPS -- For those generally interested in a Pre-Amp output AV device, but who may not be familiar with the set up requirements, please be aware on this model, and the same generally applies to most any Pre-Amp, each speaker level pre-out channel must be externally connected to a separate external power amplifier, such as a one or more external multi-channel power amplifiers, or specially equipped multi-channel receivers, or otherwise directly connected to a set of individually internally amplified speakers, in order to enable the low level Pre-Amp output signals to drive each of the loudspeakers.
