Mark Levinson made a decision to sell a factory upgrade for the 333 after the rave reviews for their new 336 came out. The 333.5 upgrade replaced the voltage gain driver boards to the newer version cyanate-ester boards used in the Mark Levinson 336. I believe the upgrade for 333 was 2400.00 which included new 333.5 face plate. In my opinion the new boards added a major sound improvement. One reviewer stated the new voltage gain boards gave the 333, 95% of the 336's improved sound. Mark Levinson Dealer installed the new boards and new face plate that show 333.5 and added the factory 333.5 update sticker. See photos.
I have used this amp serial # 2591 (is a very late model 333) and a consecutive serial number 333.5 (will also be for sale) for last 5 years to vertically Bi-amp my Apogee Divas. Sounded truly amazing. I just bought two consecutive number 336s last week. This is the only reason I am selling. Very good cosmetics and sounds absolutely perfect. Old Phillips caps were change when 333.5 boards were installed. No buzz or hum. And no cap leakage.
I have original double box for safe shipping but will take $100.00 off of final price and pay return shipping for empty box if you agree.
