EAR 834P -please read

Excellent functioning and electronic condition. **MC only**. Please read.


This is the best sounding 834p I’ve owned or heard and the best phono stage I’ve had. 
It’s former working tool from a professional recording studio. It looks like it which is why it gets the low rating. 

I swore I’d never sell this and will have another like it soon as my situation recovers. The electronics mods were thoughtfully done by people who know the unit and know what they’re doing. (One of our well known and esteemed techs did the work, he prefers not to be named)

Caps are panFC in the power supply and Auricaps for signal. Many resistors and components were upgraded and various compromises eliminated. The circuit is stock. 

Eg- The MM/MC switch is useful but in the worst possible spot. It's been bypassed and you can imagine the difference it makes by itself.
(Unit can be wired for MM in minutes or a switch added back. It's well worth forgoing this however if it's not critical for you.)

I had good RCAs installed when I first got it.
I had a power light and switch added later (uprated). It was audible but I wanted the functionality.  
This thing is ugly, no question. I don’t want to overstate it.  It looks good enough sitting there. I kind of like it tba.
But it's an 8 with a factory faceplate and switch and these aren't expensive. The case is fine.  
I used it with a Benz L.4 and Linn Karma among others to great effect.  


You won't otherwise get this sound for this money unless you pay someone who can make it happen. And it's below blue book to boot.  On these terms this is a good deal.



I'll pack functioning tubes (American, Marshall Iabelled) to get you going. I had best results with vintage mullards and highly recommend them. (They no longer exist or I'd send them)


I love this and truly hate selling it. Appearance aside it's much better than stock, and better than all other modded ones I've heard and it's priced low besides. You won't be disappointed.
