B&K PRO-10MC Sonata

Hello. I recently acquired this preamplifier from a friend of mine. I am in electronics technician by trade and work on audio gear a lot. I completely refurbished this unit with new capacitors and change the op amps in the phono stage (original ones are included). The unit has been thoroughly cleaned inside and out. All connections have been cleaned with contact cleaner. The volume potentiometer was disassembled, cleaned and reinstalled. This unit is ready for another 20 to 30 years of service.

Honestly, it sounds amazing. I have been in the audio hobby for 40 years and this is one of the nicest sounding preamps I have owned. I’m not even sure why am selling it. Just to try something different I guess. The phono stage sounds amazing too. The reason I change the op amps is because it sounded slightly dark with my cartridge. I replaced him with National Semiconductor “Audio” ones. It’s very easy to put them back as they are in sockets.

The overall condition is excellent. No major scratches or dings. Let me know if you have any questions. I also have the original box and packing.
