Carver C-9

========FREE SHIPPING IN THE LOWER 48 USA.================= This is not in perfect cosmetic shape, as shown in the photos, but the circuitry is better than new now. I go through these units one by one, replacing well over 35 different parts, ranging from some resistors, capacitors, and RCA jacks, all the way to a larger transformer, and in this case, an upgraded integrated circuit in the output. For those of you that don't already know, I have been at this successfully for 5 years now, and still am loving it. It is not for profit, but the pleasure of the build to me.
 The C-9 was Bob Carvers most successful unit as far as sales. One big reason, is that these things really work. I have had one in my system for many years. It is my tongue in cheek comment to add that you get less than what you pay for if these units aren't rebuilt, and sellers still want waay too much money for a unit that likely needs work. I mean that in every C-9, about 11 of the electrolytic capacitors are well past their prime, and also the original RCA jacks are  reason enough that I started this process to begin with so many years ago.
The sonic hologram circuit works by using cross cancellation signals, a bit of delay and some minor frequency shaping. Yes, the effect is outstanding on many recordings, but not all. It all depends as to whether the recordings are in mono/stereo and the miking used. So with just about any stereo recording, this unit presents a sound to your ears that fools them along with your brain to believe that you are there/they are here sonic performance. To be frank, I do not mess around with tweaks in general, but this process seems to me to be more of a correction process than a tweak as such. Anyway, you gotta hear it to 'get it'. If you don't agree, send back the unit and have your money refunded. Not a bad policy for a single guy at a workbench cranking out one unit at a time.

 One last thought. You might have spent a few hundred dollars on cables and regretted the upgrade. Maybe like me, you don't mind spending a bit on vibration control. Even though there are possible benefits from some of these products, I can't compare the change between the Carver C-9 and the difference that it positively makes vs any other product that I have used. Cool thing is, it can be switched in or out for an immediate comparison. Pull the trigger on this... you hear the difference.
