Time to move all the gear that I wanted to get fixed but now I am just too Damn old to go to all the work. So, if you can still lift heavy objects or know how to move them so you can ship them this piece will forever reward you.
The 40 was/is an excellent processor and an even better pre-amp. It is bested by the 32 but gets about 96% right, I had this in my theater and neglected it for years because I upgraded and continue(d) to enjoy my reference stereo. I have had 6 major surgeries in different places in the last 4 years. To watch movies I just used the TV in the bedroom that is hooked up with some nice Krell gear and Wilson Benesch speakers.Anyway, one day when I did decide to watch a movie in my home theater I received the "waiting for video box" prompt. When I went to show someone that it would not work it suddenly decided to work again and did for a short while. I moved it out into the family room and wanted to use it strictly for its pre-amp capabilities. This time it gave the same prompt and did not work for half a day and then it worked for over a week. I went on vacation and when I came back all I can get on the display is: "Waiting For Video Box"!
It is too heavy to move around both pieces and now I have decided to sell it "AS IS". It may work for you when you plug it in and then again it may not. I thought that it might be a remote problem, so I sent the remote to a service place in Texas (number available to the buyer) to have it fixed.
My price reflects someone picking up the unit from my house - for me to ship it will require the Buyer to make arrangements to have someone come to my home and pick it up and to ship it to you!
I have a Levinson 33 and a single Watt Puppy V listed also. If you make the trip you may want to pick up all three as my price allows for a hassle factor and repair.
