Bought it new from GTT a few months ago (nice experience).  Used it for about 3 weeks. It deserves the good write-ups I've seen thus far.  Excellent macro- and micro-dynamics. Very expressive vocals and rhythmic thrust.  The digital input buffer is effective and settings can be saved by type of input. Remote control is handled by network software app, not a hand-held or wifi. I haven't developed an interest in streaming yet, and used it only as a straight-in dac from AES/EBU. Auralic says the most popular digital filter setting is 'smooth,' but I often preferred 'balanced.'  Enjoyed my time with it, but, as I'm searching for my 'last' dac, I decided to go even further upscale.  The manual is downloadable from the Auralic website.

Questions for the seller
What don’t you like about this?
I don’t “dislike” anything about the Vega G2. Whenever The Absolute Sound or Stereophile get around to reviewing it, I’m sure it will be judged a ‘Class A’ DAC. That being said, this is, after all, a connoisseur pursuit, and we have our own flavor tastes. I’ll give you a bit of my journey. Once upon a time, audio was my hobby, but I thought it would be great to make it my job, as well. I talked the owner of one of the famous high-end salons into giving me a shot. I spent about five years there. It had its ups and downs, but I really had a lot of fun overall. I bought a Naim CDX CD player, which I loved and used for about 20 years. To me, it was very musical. I still have it; it still works, but it seemed to go ‘flat.’ Microdynamics weren’t shining through on voices. I decided player technology had to have improved sufficiently in 20 years to make trying to salvage the CDX not a good investment. And I was curious. During this time I had left the audio business and went on to become a Communications Director of a church. I retired from that job at the end of 2017. So, I’ve been shopping for my “retirement” system. I’d had a chance to play with some of the best ‘toys’ out there, but of course, the budget couldn’t be unlimited. When I auditioned the Auralic Vega G2, I was blown over by the expressiveness of vocals, thanks to those microdynamics. The Vega G2 has explicit, fast, taut dynamics. I bought it, and would have been fine if I’d stopped auditioning, but I’d always been curious about DCS’ ringdac system and they’d gone and made one just inexpensive enough... Turned out it was a smidge more voluptuous than the G2, something I didn’t mind, though it was multiples of the cost. In the end, because it’s supposed to be my ‘retirement’ DAC, I chose to treat myself to it, safe in the knowledge that, even if I got weak, my wife was never going to allow me anything that was multiples of that. Hope this helps somewhat.
