Elrog ER242 (211) Molybdemun Vacuum Tubes

Up for sale a lightly used quad of Elrog’s newest production ER242 tubes an exact replacement for 211 tubes. Elrog’s highly acclaimed Molybdenum metal plate tubes with low hours are up for sale, We have 1 pair remaining.   From March 2019 production. Slits were added to the metal plates which was done to improve tube reliability. Tubes went in service in early April 2019 and have less than 200 hours on them, probably closer to 100 hours. I am selling for a friend who has decided to go forward with very high quality SS amps. It was his opinion that these were by far the best 211 variant he had ever run in his tube amps (He had Audio Note Kagura's). Tubes look like they have never been used visually, excellent condition, owner will honor remaining factory warranty.

Production runs are generally sold out and these tubes are almost never available for sale. MSRP is about $3500 per pair. Production test date is visible on data sheet (serial number covered) Mar 11, 2019.  I have never seen these tubes for sale on the used market.

I put these tubes in my amplifier, a Wyetech Topaz c 211 SET, to get some shots with the beautiful tubes on and listen to what this tube is all about. That may have been a mistake, this is by far the best 211 variant I have ever heard in my system. I do not own old NOS 211’s such as United, Amperex, RCA or even GE but I do have a set of PSvane WE knockoffs, PS Vane 211 T2, Shugang 211-T and a 211 set cryogenically treated tubes. All these tubes sound very very good in my amp. The Elrog is another league, from the bass to the highs it exhibits complete control of the music with a naturalness that is almost startling. The stage was deeper and wider which surprised me as I already go beyond back wall and side wall to side wall. Acoustic instruments and human voice all had a more real, solid and more humanness to them, 3D and oh so palpable. I couldn’t turn the amp off and listened for almost 7 hours until 3 AM. Not to mention the tubes look cool when on, the light through the slits in the plates is alluring. These tubes are special.  I get what the buzz is about.
