SET headphone amplifier using the 1626 transmitting triode. Custom output transformers optimized for 300 ohm loads, so Sennheisers or ZMFs recommended. Beautiful purpleheart two-tone base. 4-pin XLR output for headphones only. Two sets of RCA inputs.
This circuit is based on the famous 'Darling' circuit originated by Bob Danielak in the 1990s. This is the only commercial headphone amplifier to use this circuit that I am aware of, other than the Amps&Sound Kenzie. The driver is the 12SL7 and the rectifier is the 84 tube.
Retail price of this amplifier was $2600 with a two month wait time. I would like to sell for $1800 and work out shipping costs with the buyer. The sale includes two full sets of NOS tubes for this amp.
