Bryston 3B-SST

This is a wonderful amplifier. Bryston amps (starting with the ST series and even more so with the SST series) are extraordinarily accurate and built to a high standard. This one is in excellent condition with no functional or cosmetic problems.
This amp is under warranty until 2024. The legendary Bryston 20-year warranty travels with the amp, not the owner. For amps built after 2006, you have to have the original receipt from an authorized dealer, but that requirement is waived for earlier amps like this one. The date code on this amp is 2004, so the bottom line is that there are 5 years remaining on the warranty.
The 3B-SST is a dual mono design 2 x 150W per channel audio power amplifier. Each channel selects a balanced or single ended input. Each channel selects a gain of 29dB(1v) or 23dB(2v). The 3B SST includes ‘soft start’ power control circuitry to eliminate high inrush currents when A/C power is applied. There is no fan so the amp is completely quiet. It does need a minimum of 6” space to the rear for ventilation and dressing cables to and from the amplifier. There are no fuses but a rear-panel circuit breaker, in addition to the membrane power switch on the front panel. The SST series has improved dynamics and ultra low-noise power transformers compared to the earlier ST series.
