Garrard 401 COMPLETELY REBUILT WITH HI-END PARTS

Completely Rebuilt Garrard 401.

VERY low use 50Hz (CONVERTED TO 60Hz
) model 401 in Excellent cosmetic condition!

Table has been completely rebuilt
with high quality parts including the following parts:

New motor bushings in top and
bottom motor housings and new felt washers in both ends.Rivets were drilled out and tapped
for Philips head screws, new bronze bushings installed and the felts replaced.

Spindle bearing was disassembled,
spindle was cleaned and a Kokomo spindle bearing by Analogue Tube Audio of
Germany was installed.

 All springs on the motor suspension were
replaced. Various springs on table were replaced with new springs and other
small parts from Classic Turntables.

All linkage was cleaned and lubed
with white lithium grease.  A new strobe
cover under the platter was installed. The original Garrard 50Hz motor pully
was replaced with a 60Hz pully by Woodsong Audio. The idler wheel was replaced
with a new style idler from Woodsong Audio. The platter has two dampening rings
attached from Classic Turntables.

The original 220 volt strobe bulb
has been replaced with a modern Keystobe brand LED strobe light and pulse unit
set to 60 Hz power and use of an original 50Hz platter. Although expensive this
is the only way to actual adjust the speed in real time AND use the 50Hz
platter in the USA with our 60Hz power. The majority of 401s are European 50Hz
models and without the installation of the KeyStrobe Pulser and Light unit you
have to use the old-fashioned strobe lite in hand and spinning platter insert
with the timing marks, no on the fly speed adjustment!!  AND a major pain……..

Cosmetically the 401 looks very
good suffering a few usual marks/blemishes.

pictures. Also, there is a picture of some of the old parts that were replaced
during the rebuild. Note the pic of some of the new parts has a strobe bulb and
a Classic bearing. I opted for the better Kokomo bearing for this rebuild.

Add a high quality plinth of your choice and mount your favorite arm/cartridge and see what all the idler-wheel fuss is about!!!
