February 11 - price reduced. Purchased from a reviewer in 2009, I believe that makes me the second owner. This is a great sounding amp, passed the goose-bump test many times over the last 10 years. I've made some changes in my system and have gone to a power amp with more wattage. The SM-11S1 extremely well built and I've never had a moments problem with it. There are some slight cosmetic issues and the case screws are not original. Included are pictures of a small scratch on back side of the top plate and a picture of the replacement screws. I will consider offers as this listing comes to it's end. It does not include a power chord. Manual included, original box. Questions for the seller |

Would you happen to know if this amp is a truly fully balanced design? I feel like I might have read that somewhere but I can't be sure. Thanks! This excerpt from the Stereophile review may help - The SM-11S1 uses two stages of output amplification: a 13dB voltage amplifier, and a 10dB power-buffer amplifier capable of providing sufficient instantaneous high-current drive to counteract back EMF from the drive-unit and thus better control the speaker cones' excursions. The first stage of this two-stage amplifier is a fully balanced, current-feedback voltage amplifier that lowers the signal impedance and is identical to the one used in the more expensive MA-9S2. HDAM SA3 modules handle the differential input, with each input independently buffered. The second stage, a current-feedback power-buffer amp incorporating the aforesaid complementary cascade push-pull circuit, drives the speakers directly.

what is power output into 8 and 4 ohms? Is it 2 ohms stable? 110Wpc into 8 ohms or 220Wpc into 4 ohms, 20Hz–20kHz, both with both channels driven. I don't know it's stability into 2 ohms. |
