Conrad Johnson Premier 5 power amplifiers

For your consideration for sale is a pair of 1 owner (my own) tube amplifiers, Conrad Johnson Premier 5 monoblocks with over 200 watts per monoblock. Very seldom you see these very rare amps for sale. Simple: They are one of a kind with that gorgeous classic CJ sound, superlative bass control, midrange to die for, silky high frequencies and truly powerful to drive practically anything. 3-Dimensionality is just amazing with these amplifiers.  Excellent clean condition on both and operationally flawless.

These have been babied in my dedicated music room. I have used them with full range electrostatics such as the Roger West amazing Soundlab A-1 Ultimates, Infinity IRS Betas, Genesis 2 as well as many others. 
 
I have completely retubed the amps last month with new matched Mullard EL-34s and these have less than three hours use. Everything on the amps is original. I did have at one time install special binding posts by a tech so it would be easier to install loudspeaker cables as you can see in one of the pictures. This post is connected in parallel to the 4 ohm terminals. But you can if you wish use the screw-types as well. 
 
Original amplifier boxes, manual and spare set of plate fuses will be included in the sale. 
 
Each amplifier weighs 80 LBs and with the packing turns over to a bit over 100 lbs.
Dimensions of each amp is 19" X 9" X 20.5"    - consecutive serial nos. 5301115 and 5301116 
 
Shipping within continental U.S.A. via FEDEX Ground at cost. Each shipping box is 24 X 22 X 15"  - another third box will be used to pack the vacuum tubes.

Note:  A word about CJ Teflon capacitor updates.  THis is your choice. I tried them at one time with another set of Premier amplifiers and I did not like them. Part of the magic of the original was gone. Instead a raw bright and detailed image superimposed my music which just did not sound musical. Just use high grade interconnects and speaker cables and don't go that route. You will be sorry... If you like violin sound correctly, brass correctly and musical instruments to sound like they are these are the ones to get!
