Classe DR-6 preamplifier, including a truly outstanding moving coil / moving magnet phono stage, in very good to excellent condition. The Classe DR-6 comes with an external power supply which greatly reduces the crosstalk, hum and other noise that often plague single-box preamplifiers. Lovingly played in a smoke-free, pet-free environment. The front panel is cosmetically pristine and the unit functions perfectly. It includes both single-ended and balanced inputs and outputs. It is a remarkably robust and solid component. Renowned for its sonics, the DR-6 is widely considered to be designer David Reich’s masterpiece and one of the finest preamplifiers ever made by Classe. This unit sports a brushed aluminum (silver) front panel; additionally, an anodized (black) front panel and anodized knobs are also included. I’ve moved on to a DIY-based stereo, which is the only reason this fantastic preamp is up for sale.

Thank you for the invitation to audition the equipment. I unfortunately do not live close to Philadelphia so cannot take you up on that. However, I am still interested in your amplifier, so it is important for me to be able to have a look at the interior before making a final decision. Will you be posting photos soon? Sorry for the belated response. The owner has sent a couple of photos, which have been posted. The DR-6 has not been modified or repaired (and has not needed modding or repair). |

1) Are you the first owner?
2) Are all components complete and in original condition and not repaired?
3) Would you be able to unscrew the top, remove it and take a photo of the interior?
4) What all is included in your asking price of $1,600--everything in the six photos?

I'm helping the owner, who is a good friend but not an audiogon member, sell his gear. I also helped him purchase the DR-6 (and other equipment) about 17 years ago. I believe the DR-6 was a dealer floor model. The preamplifier is complete, in excellent working condition and has never required any repair work. My friend is out of town today but will return home tomorrow and will take photos of the interior, which will be posted in the advertisement. Everything in the photos is included.
