These are for serious enthusiasts and audiophiles. These are very rare Anthony Gallo 5LS line array speakers. They are visually stunning, they are huge (6.5 feet tall) and heavy (~150lbs each), and they are a bit of a project. New these retailed for almost $20k for the pair, and used they currently sell in the $5-6k range. These have been a project of mine, and require another enthusiast as the wife has deemed them "not child friendly" after our recent move.
Please note, these arent flawless - they have some dents, a stripped thread here or there, and one part of the back array is no longer powered due to a lose wire from the move. I've not got the time and interest to disassemble these but can show prospective owners how they come apart. That said, they still sound good to my ear even as is, and they are gorgeous.
Comes with assorted spare parts I secured from the US distributor before they closed shop a few years ago (Gallo is UK based and most threads are metric). Includes spare tweeters, drivers, rods for the front grill, etc.
Some industry quotes on these rare speakers:
" His new Reference 5LS embodies everything he's hoped to accomplish - an efficient, slender full-range speaker that's crossoverless over eight octaves, offers wide dispersion, phase integrity, speed and dynamics and integrates elegantly with domestic decors. The protective grill elements are similar to bicycle wheel spokes and tensioned between top and bottom plates (final production will use an enlarged base for increased stability - the photos are of prototypes)." -6moons
"The 5LS offers the options of bi- or tri-wiring, as well as bi- or tri-amping. Although capable of handling massive power, the crossover-less design and high efficiency of both the CDT II tweeters and carbon-fiber midrange drivers are perfect mates for low-powered, high-performance amplifiers.
At 7” wide by 11” deep, the Reference 5LS sports quite a slender profile. The twelve 4” rear-firing subwoofers are “time corrected” with the front firing drivers and nearly equal the surface area of a 15” subwoofer, while offering the speed and transparency that a large single driver cannot match. In addition, the Reference 5LS features AGA’s patented S2 Technology, as well as their trademark spherical enclosures, which minimizes external diffraction and internal standing waves." -audioholics
