We have finally decided to part ways with our beloved vintage stereo receiver, (and Kenwood tower speakers listed in a separate ad.) It is a MAC 4275. This has been in our family since the 80s and it is still as amazing as ever. We did a side-by-side comparison with 2 Echo Studios, (paired for stereo,) + Echo Amp and another with with 2 Sonos Ones, (paired for stereo.) The sound it puts out beat out the new Echo studios + Amp, hands down. The sound was so much more full and rich. We ended up going with the Sonos, but only because of the convenience and size. (We live in a pretty small place.) The sound was definitely comparable.

We tested all the inputs. My husband and I really thought that historically the R channel on Speaker 2 would occasionally cut out. When we tested, we were unable to reproduce the problem, except by wiggling the Speaker 2 button (located on the front,) fairly vigorously. We connected the R channel with the L input for both Speaker 1 and Speaker 2. We played music for hours on each and we didn't experience the issue. We've never taken the receiver to a shop, as we generally used a single pair of speakers with this unit. So I am questioning if the time I remember having a channel go out was with a different receiver.

We do not have a means to test the for amp/pre-amp input and outputs for older audio equipment, (tape output, remote control, etc.) The FM antenna input fetches a good strong signal. (I forgot to picture it, but I do have the antenna wire.)

Cosmetically, the receiver is in excellent condition. I'm happy to run any tests you need, take specific pictures or bring it out to your house (distance being within reason,) to let you test it with your own equipment. We can also run it with the Kenwood speakers for you to hear its sound.

Includes original instruction manual, FM antenna wire and spare fuse.
