ARCAM SOLO Digitally Integrated A/V Receiver/CD Player                                                        

This handsome all-in-one silver ARCAM product combines a 50-watt per channel stereo audio receiver with a good quality built-in CD player, so all you need to do is hook up a pair of speakers to hear well-played CD recordings. The CD player employs a Wolfson 24-bit DAC.  It does not play DvDs. It also allows the audio portion of other video sources to play through this device. Also has FM, tape inputs as other sources.

This used unit is in excellent cosmetic and operational condition, essentially 9/10 but I will rate it 8/10 for its classic status. The Solo was very favorably reviewed in Europe and the USA.  For example, "What Hi-Fi" magazine wrote that the Solo provides “smooth, warm and entertaining sound; fine build and finish; an excellent tuner; easy to use; and has iPod connectivity”. Peter Moncrieff of IAR gave glowing reviews of ARCAM preamp and amp design prowess: comparable to very good separate components.

Used in bedroom system with Von Schweikert small speakers for very nice dependable (never a problem) pet-free performance.  Replacing now with a 4K OLED streaming TV in a small retirement room.
