The Elipsa’s sound is about as far as you can get from the Analytical School of Speaker Design. This is not to suggest that the Elipsa makes everything sound the same-they are quite revealing of recordings and upstream components—but that they make everything played through them sound consistently and exceptionally lovely. They are the baby brothers of the gorgeous Stradivari. Stunning engineering & design, awesome detail, depth and huge soundstage.
~ Made in Italy
Brand new they retailed at $23,000. Get them for a lot less and pre-loved. I have kept these speakers for a couple years but hardly ever used them. It's finally time I give them up and pass them on to the next person who will cherish their presence. Their overall sound is smooth, warm and intensely seductive. At the same time they easily show differences in recordings as well as associated components. I honestly can’t think of another loudspeaker manufacturer creating models as purely beautiful sounding as those made by Italy’s Sonus faber.
There is a minor chip in the wood of one of the speakers on the back due to shipping problems when I first got the speaker but other than that the speakers are in outstanding condition. I attached a picture of the chipped part. That being said, I already marked down the amount and think this is a highly fair price.
