IKEDA 9mono was designed specifically for use in mono and not a modification of the stereo cartridge. Head body is made of solid aluminum alloy layers, to securely hold the generator unit.Needle holder is made in the form of bilayer duralumin tubes to minimize weight and ruggedness. Chip needle (stylus) has an oval shape that will effectively read information from any mono LPs in any period of their press. Unlike all conventional mono pickup heads, 9mono has two independent coils - right and left, located separately in the housing so that the electrical circuit is mounted separately. Two low resistance coils have vertical winding. A high efficiency permalloy core generates power only in the horizontal motion. This architecture eliminates extraneous hum noise that can disturb while listening to music.The design and technical solutions to the cartridge IKEDA 9mono implement the main task - to reveal the hidden nuances in the record and play it with the charm and harmony which it had originally sealed.
